Bad Cats
Not really bad, but whatever.  Both the cats like sleeping on Felix's changing table.  They barely fit on it together, which results in cute forced cuddling.  The other day Felix was, for the first time, bothered by them being on there.  He was pointing, making unintelligible complaints, and finally poked them until they left.  Weirdo.

Poor Monkey
Second E.R. trip for Felix.  Last night he was coughing and coughing and coughing so hard he was barfing everywhere.  Finally he fell asleep and woke up about an hour and a half later, covered in barf and barking.  Yay.... croup.  We took him over to the E.R. (conveniently located across the street) and he got a nebulizer treatment and some steroids.  I took pictures.  Eventually, he felt much better!  We all finally got home and got a few hours of sleep... at 5AM. He may look like Giles on the outside, but those lungs are pure me.  So proud.

(Not-so) Merry-go-Round
We've been lucking out on weekend weather recently, and taking advantage of our proximity to Prospect Park.  Saturday we took Felix to play at one of the little playgrounds (along with 8,000 other children).  He loved the slides (again), and really got into using the stairs, as opposed to trying to go up the slide.  Still hates the swings.  I guess he didn't even stay on the swings long enough for a picture.  As soon as we put him in he just freaks out.  All the other kids are just like, "tra-la-la... swinging is fun!  Daddy, push me!" and Felix is like, "WTF is this??!  HELP ME!!!"  Poor kid.  Recess is going to suck in a few years. We also decided to take Felix on the carousal in the park.  It's apparently really old.  Awesome photo opportunity of cute, smiling baby on a fun ride.  It was even playing one of the annoying songs from his Door To Nowhere.  And he hated it.  Cried and screamed and was That Kid.  I still got some pictures.  [Side note:  there are topless ladies on the center of the carousel! ?!]

Guitar Hero IV: Crib Tour
These are just cute.  Is it mean that my favorite is the one that says "FAILED" right over his head?

Ride ‘Em, Cowboy
Felix loves Topher.   Topher is docile, good-natured, and frankly, too fat and slow to escape.  The end result of this perfect storm is Cat Rodeo, where little Cowboy Felix takes on the giant furry (stationary) beast. What's sad is this pictures don't capture the actual BOUNCING that Felix was doing while trying to spur Topher into action.  Poor cat.

Chutes and… chutes

We went to the park by Grandma and Pop-pop's house.   Felix had a great time with the slides, but was determined to climb up the slides and not use the stairs.  If this were a game of Chutes and Ladders, Felix would totally have lost.

Happy Easter!
Felix practiced finding eggs a few days ago.  We filled plastic eggs with goldfish and "hid" them around the apartment.  He seemed to catch on to the idea that these plastic eggs opened and contained something cheese-flavored.  Total win.  What we didn't prepare him for was competition.  Or chocolate. So Easter, at Grandma and Pop-pop's, Felix "found" about 4 eggs.  His cousin Robbie found about 50.  Felix was definitely the slow and steady type of hunter, who wanted to eat all of the cheddar bunnies in his egg before he looked for more.  He was also completely uninterested in the M&Ms in some of eggs.   Wouldn't even try them.  Maybe he thought they were vegetables?

Sunday in the Park with Felix
After our (not so) long, (and not very) harsh winter, spring has sprung and I'm pretty sure the entire borough* took to Prospect Park to celebrate. Felix was bizarrely serious the whole afternoon, and mostly just wandered around looking vaguely pissed off.  I think maybe he prefers the snow?  At least he seemed to like Elise. *My best guess.  Only full and accurate compliance with the national census effort currently underway will prove or disprove my guess.

A bit of redecoration
Taking the jungle theme one step further (too far?), I hung a bunch of vines all over Felix's room.  Now I just need tons of tiny little monkeys. CIMG3985

A very busy wee-man
The life of a 17-month old is very busy.  Lost of important (and apparently top secret) phone calls, letters to write and pants to lose.
